Our Confirmation students are asking everyone to bring in donations of non-perishable food items and "clothing" for A GIVE IT AWAY service project in which they are involved.  They will be at the doors of the church after every Mass (the weekend of November 19-20) to accept your donations. Thank you. Here is a copy of the flyer that they will be distributing at all the Masses on Nov. 12-13.

A reminder to all our young people who are planning to celebrate Confirmation this October 2011. You and your adult companion will be going to Charlotte this Saturday September 24 for the entire day to participate in the Diocescan Eucharistic Congress. Many of our young children who will be celebrating their First Communion in Spring 2012 gathered for a mandatory meeting and Mass this past Sunday. At that meeting the students were formally enrolled in the sacrament as YEAR 2 COMMUNION students. There is a new program for students in high school who desire to celebrate their First Communion or Confirmation. Classes will be conducted on Saturday afternoons from 5:30 - 7:00 PM. You need to register now for these classes. The cost is $50 per student. Classes will begin Saturday October 1. Use this form to register now.

Last evening the catechists from both the English and Spanish Sunday morning faith formation sessions met together to plan for the coming year. We look forward to September 11 which is the Opening Day of Classes. Parents and children (who have registrered for classes) should plan to come to the gym for an Opening Prayer Service and to meet your new catechists.
